HAVING A LIFE VS LIVING
This edition is not to motivate anyone or address any pressing issue as in the previous posts. I just want to communicate and relate (Light shed, Knowledge Shared, and Beliefs reviewed). Well, I can’t argue with the world that good things don’t come easily but I have little issue with the “don’t come easily” part concerning how it has and is still been misinterpreted and bastardized. Most people, even I at one time thought it was by Sleepless night, purging my circle, Hard work (calm down make I finish I know you want to fight) etcetera. Concerning the bastardization of the quoted phrase and my interest to communicate and educate, I stand to disagree with these outlined beliefs.
A popular proverb in Yoruba says “π²πππ ππππ π π πππ; ππ ππππ ππ πππ π π π ππππ” (πΎπππππ π ππππ’π ππππ ππππ ππππ ππππ; πππππππ πππππ ππππ πππ ππππ πππ ππππ). When all I did was abide by the above things all I had was temporary happiness that comes with achievement and then the quest for another rises again. I still had the fear of the unknown, I was scared to fail, and I didn’t want to accept failure as normal. “Kirakita” after all said and done on this earth, I don’t need to tell you the end of it all.
“THE RAT RACE” is now a norm, the society has painted it to be acceptable and comfortable, the best way to get validation from people is when you’re deeply buried in the rat race, pressure is now motivation (don’t get me wrong as they are two different things but which the society is now painting them to mean the same thing).
This is my reason for wanting to communicate with this blog post, Having a Life and Living are two different things. All thanks to JCIN Eksu for opening my eyes to this and since 2019 it had stuck with me. I learned about the Rat Race too.
Having a Life is doing things that align with you, Things based on your strength, passion, and sole interest. A person that has a life is someone real to know that of course money is essential for sustainability but it’s not the priority.
π΄ππππ πππ’π ππππππ πππππππ, πππ πππππ ππ ππ ππππ ππ ππππ. – π΅πππππ π΄πππ πππ.
Living is trying to do things in a rigid, and already designed way especially because society has presented it to be normal. It’s Running the Rat, Not having to build your process, and just going with any way that seems favorable. To shed more light, A good example is “Having a career and a job”. A career is equal to the definition given above on Having a Life whilst the latter is for Living (I hope you understand better now) 99% of humans focus on raising the bars, not thinking about what the bars are about or how the bars got to be in the first place. We give so much importance to the bars that we don’t realize that the bars could raise us themselves if properly studied but how can we get to know that.
Alright naturally I know humans crave the need to be validated, praised, respected, and loved that we’ve lost ourselves in the process.
Let me bring to your knowledge that God made a powerful thing that lies in us all, it’s called purpose, it’s gentle, and won’t announce itself unless you seek it with Intentionality and Truth. Also, I believe God’s purpose for giving you a purpose is not to leave your energy depleted, deprive you of happiness, and be insatiable. It’s for fulfillment.
Earlier I mentioned disagreeing with Hard work because of its bastardization in our today’s society. Where people keep drowning day by day wearing fake smiles married to strife, anxiety, and unhappiness. (Breaths out loud) Well to me Hard work is Intentionality coupled with consistency in birthing results. Do you know if you commit to reading just 10 pages of a book every day with Intentionality equals Hard work? Well to me it does because the results you’d birth will be sustainable and fulfilling.
We all have our uniqueness and strength, seek it! One great step to bringing your purpose to light, then you’d have no reason to try to read 100 pages a day when you know you’d be fine with reading just 10 pages with Intentionality.
Reading the book the millionaire next door got me asking myself so many questions I learned the SEVEN attributes of wealthy people and I realized that all I’ve ever known was not written there. I highly recommend this book to you, my lovely readers. Can we all agree to not let pressure take the lead? Can we all subscribe to purpose, value, and impact? I wonder.
I’m a work in progress and I believe in my process. I decided to leverage my STRENGTH with respect to OPPORTUNITIES that comes my way, identify my WEAKNESSES and improve on them with Intentionality to curb any THREAT at all.
Don’t forget that purpose is a journey, a step at a time each day till the very end, and an impactful and happy end at that; a Legacy.
PS: in one sentence, I just want us to stop living the rat race to live a real life.
Dear readers pay attention to the things happening around you, pay attention to yourself, and lastly to Life. You can be whoever you want to be and you can do more than you even imagine.
PPS: I FEEL LIKE I STILL DID SOME IF NOT A LOT OF MOTIVATION IN THIS POSTπ«.
